Description:
What role does the Christian faith play in politics and civic discourse?  What role should it play? This 6-week course will provide a historical overview of what the Bible, Christian tradtiion and secular thinkers have to say about how best to “live together” with the goal being to think Biblically about the responsibilities of our special dual citizenship.

Sept. 28:  What does the Bible say about “politics”?
Oct. 5:  What has man said about politics?  The Christian tradition
Oct 12:  What has man said about Politics?  Classic and contemporary thinkers.
Oct 19:  What has man said about politics?  Finding common ground
Oct 26th:  Contemporary Issues

The clash of orthodoxies.  Law religion & morality in crisis,  George, Robert P.

History of Political Philosophy, 3rd ed,  Strauss, Leo, and Joseph Cropsey. 

The class is open to everyone. No registration required.

This class is designed as a 6-week seminar (Sept 21-Oct 26, 2008) and will take place at Timberline Church on Sunday mornings @ 10:00 a.m. in room #201.
